Two steampunk bands are coming to WV this month. A good chance to check out the steampunk sound.
The first band is Extraordinary Contraptions from Atlanta, GA. They will be at this year’s Tsubasacon where they have a concerts both Friday and Saturday plus an acoustic concert on Saturday morning. The band is a quartet that invokes music spanning genre and time. They use things from a washboard to keyboard, from upright bass to electric guitar.
On Saturday they will also being shooting scenes for their latest music video around Huntington. So be on the look out for them.
On Friday October 26, the gypsypunk cabaret group of This Way to the Egreess will be at the Sound Factory in Charleston as an after party for Live on the Levee. They are blend of music, sideshow, burlesque, and comedy show that blends Vaudeville with modern concepts. Qiet will be performing that night on the same bill. Tickets will be just $7.
