Ever wanted to be in a theatrical production of Night of the Living Dead by George Romero and John Russo. Good news for you, whatever kind of freak you are. Cause your chance is here to audition for a production coming this October.
Auditions will be held at the Kanawha Players Theater on July 27th – 29th from 5pm-7pm. They are looking for people to fill the roles of three women, one girl, and four men for the main roles, seven smaller roles (mostly male) and finally 17 zombies. People interested in being crew members should also come to the auditions to fill out paperwork.
Seven people trapped in an isolated farmhouse, held hostage by ravenous ghouls, begin to turn on each other as the dead encroach. A gripping terror-filled monochromatic play that brings all the fright of the cult classic to life. This blend of thrilling horror laced with touches of black humor envelops the audience in the action and unfolds into a shocking theatrical ending.
The show will run this October 18, 19, 25, 26 at 8pm and 20th at 2pm. The show will be presented in black and white like the film; the set, props, actors, and everything else except the blood.
If you have not seen the original movie, I suggest watching it being riffed by the crew of RiffTrax. You do not have to worry, you won’t lose much watching it like that.
