Annual Tournament of the White Hart

The 18th Annual Tournament of the White Hart hosted by Shire of Port Oasis of the Kingdom of AEthelmearc (Society for Creative Anachronism) will be held at the Cabell County 4-H Camp in Barboursville from March 7 at 5PM to March 9 at noon.

There will be tournaments in Heavy Combat, Archery, and Fencing.  An Arts & Science competition to decide the next Artisan of the White Hard and brewing competition.  A series of children’ activities will be held in the main hall, including imitation stained glass, poetry, mini-bows and arrows, and several more.  This year’s feast is a Viking World Tour.

The reservation price is $8 if you do not get feast, $16 if you do get the feast.  A fee of $5 will be applied to non-members.  Cabins for the even are $50 for the weekend and on first come first paid basis.  Individual bunks are available in the main hall for $5 a bed.  Make checks out to “SCA WV Inc. White is great for anyone who has never been around the SCA before and wants to learn more.

Located in Huntington, WV, the Shire of Port Oasis is the local chapter of the Society of Creative Anachronism. A small part of a larger group that tries to re-enact European culture between the years 600 – 1600.
