2015 Mothman Festival

The Mothman Festival in Downtown Point Pleasant is back for a 14th year, Saturday September 19th and Sunday September 20th.  It is the cross between a con and a fair.

There will be speakers on all things paranormal at the historic State Theater.  Speakers include Bill Brok (show host of Monsters Underground), Ken Gerhard (History Channel Host, acclaimed author), Neal Parks (Paranormal Award Winning Author), Joedy Cook (Bigfoot investigator and cryptologist), Rosemary Ellen Guiley (paranormal expert and author), Susan Sheppard (executive producer and author), John Frick (paranormal investigator and enthusiastic), Lyle Blackburn (cryptid researcher and acclaimed author), Chad Lambert (comic creator and award-winning editor), and others.  There will be a guest roundtable discussion on Sunday.

Events you can check out are live bands at the Riverfront Park, kid activities and games, a Mothman 5k, a Miss Mothman Pageant Children’s Pageant, check out the Mothman and Men in Black costumers, visit the Mothman Museum, see the Mothman Prophecies at the Historic State Theater on Saturday evening at 8pm, hang with the WV Ghostbusters Division, go down on a 200ft zip line, eat at the Harris Steak House (The Mothman Diner), take a narrated tram ride through downtown Point Pleasant, a narrated tour of the TNT area, hayrides, tour the historic (and maybe haunted) Lowe Hotel, visit the Silver Bridge memorial, check out the Mothman Statue, aerial tour over the TNT area, take a horse-drawn wagon ride down Main Street, check out the river murals and statues, and other historic sites in and around Point Pleasant.

On Friday night September 18th, they will hold the Miss Mothman Pageant Queen Pageant if you want to come up early.  There will also be a showing of the documentary “Eyes of the Mothman” at the State Theater at 8pm with concessions.  Admission is free.

There will be several vendors set up in the streets, selling Mothman merch, food, and more.

If you can go I personally suggest checking out this event at least once.
