The first Mountain State Pop Expo will be Saturday November 7th from 10am to 6pm at the Town Center Marriott in Charleston. All vendor table costs, admission, and raffle ticket sales from this event will go to the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia to help the area’s neediest kids this holiday season.
For events they will have several panels on cosplaying and make-up, an acoustic concert by metal band HARRAH, a costume contest, and a raffle. There will be a game room and tournaments run by Rare Drops. The costume contest will have awards for kids 12 and under, original design, and different levels of craftsmanship voted on by local cosplayers. The raffle has items donated from vendors, IDW, Braxton County tourism, and even WV Fandoms Blog.
Vending at the event will be local shops, crafters, and artists of all kinds. They will be selling items such as book, art prints, toys, comics, video games, jewelry, vitamins, plushies, collectibles, games, and more.
Cosplay groups Mandalorian Mercs, WV Ghostbusters, Causeplayers, and the D20 Girls Project will be in attendance. The new magazine The Charleston Anvil will be making their début at the show. Indy wrestling federation IWA East Coast will also attend.
It is only $5 to attend, free for those under 10 with an adult.
This is a good show for any nerd to shop and hang out with fellow nerds. Also helps out a good cause.
