3rd Annual Minicon

The Jackson County Public Library in Ripley is having their 3rd Annual Minicon this Saturday April 8th from 3pm to 9pm.  Minicon is mainly a literacy outreach program to encourage a love of reading through comics, gaming, and other more out there ideas.

They will have some craft projects for everyone to try, a LEGO room, coloring contest, several board and cards games to play, Magic: The Gathering open play and trade, Star Wars cosplayers for photos, trivia contests throughout the day, door prizes, raffle items, LARPing, and classes. They will have a cosplay contest at 5pm.  A nerdy belly performance at 4pm.  The contest winners will all be announced at 8pm.  They will running both a Hero Training Camp and Complete a Quest as well.

It looks like a nice fun little event for kids (of any age), creative people, and those wanting to find new nerdy outlets.

The West Virginia Chocolate Festival will also be going in Ripley this weekend too.  So something else to do during down times.
