CharCon Bonus Round 2016

CharCon’s Bonus Round of Roleplaying and SciFi weekend presented by Shentel Communications returns to the Flatwoods Days Inn and Suites Conference Center in Sutton this Saturday April 30th through Sunday May 1st.  This year includes table top gaming and science fiction and horror events.

RPGS over the weekend will include Pathfinder, SPARKS, Ponyfinder, Confluence, Dungeon & Dragons, and more.  Other games will include Kaiju Kaos, play to win board games, Looney Labs Werewolf, and others with a board game library to check out games from.  The ARTEMIS: Space Bridge Simulator will be back.  Shentel  will be holding a video gaming lounge again as well.  The event is also an official International Tabletop Day location and will be showing the official live ITD video stream all day Saturday.

Besides the gaming there will be panels, a screening room on Sunday, costuming, vendors and green screen photo booth.  The Mandalorian Mercs and WV Ghostbusters will be in attendance.  Other guests for the year are artist Michael Mayne, author Brian J. Hatcher, Mountain State Paranormal, and Frank and Jane Gabor of Fairmont State’s Folklife Center.  Panels will be on costume make-up, ghost hunting, Mountain Monsters, painting, and more.

Cost for the weekend is $25.  You can still register.

This is an event for gamers or those who want to learn about gaming.


International Tabletop Day

International TableTop Day is a celebration for all the fans of tabletop gaming started by Geek & Sundry this Saturday April 5th. A single day where the world comes together in a common purpose of spending time together and having fun.  Sponsors for this year are Japanime Games, AEG, Ravensburger, Asmodee, Calliope Games, Looney Labs, Steve Jackson Games, Stronghold Games and Atlas Games.  Several places across the state are hosting for people to gather and play.

Kanawha Players is hosting in Charleston.  They will have several indie table-top games, prizes, a Cards Against Humanity Tournament,  and a screening of Zombie Orpheus Entertainment’s “The Gamers: Hands of Fate.”  Things start at 6pm.

Books-a-Million at the Barboursville Mall will be hosting in their store.  They will be having giveaways such as posters, promo cards, figures, and even games.  You can register to win one of two prize packages that includes Space Fluxx, Roll for it!, King of Tokyo, and Munchkin Deluxe.  They will be playing games from 1pm-5pm.
A group of teachers in Barboursville are hosting an event, but I have no information on where.

Hometown Hobbies in Huntington will be demoing games from 2pm to 6pm.  Though I am sure you could stay longer if you wanted to.

Lost Legion Games & Comics: The Vault in Vienna is hosting games as well.  They start at 11am and go till 9pm for a full day of gaming.

Comic Paradise Plus in Fairmont is running games from 1pm to 6pm.

Four Horsemen Comics and Gaming in Morgantown will be open from 10am till 9pm.

West Virginia University is getting in on the act as well.
