Old School Convention and AFSP Charity Game Day

Old School Convention this Saturday April 6th at the Pleasants County Middle School in Belmont starting from 10am to 5pm.  All proceeds from the con got to PCMS and other Pleasants County schools.

Vendors include stores like Multiverse Comics, C & K Comics, the N’Oasis, Classic Plastic Toy Store, Third Floor Comics, plus individual sellers selling new and vintage toys like Transformers, Funko Pops, action figures, horror items, video games, and art from JR Earls.

I have not seen anything about events at the event except a raffle.  There could a cosplay contest, panels, and gaming, but does not look like it.

A small a toy and collectibles show that if you are local and are not saving up to a bigger should might want to check out.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is having a Charity Game Day at the Four Horsemen Comics and Gaming store in Bridgeport Saturday April 6th from noon to 9pm.

There will RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Savage Worlds, TORG, and more.  Several Magic: The Gathering tournaments, a Pokémon TCG tournament, and various board games to play all day.  Plus there will be raffle with plenty of prizes to win, drawing at around 8:30pm.

Seems like a fun day of gaming and helping out a great organization.

Power Up and Shocka-Con have both said they are taking this year off.  Willcon has moved two miles down the road and is now in Kentucky so is not covered anymore.

Plus there are always local gaming events, gatherings, and other smaller events all around you not covered here.

Old School Convention 2016

Old School Convention returns for its second year, this time at the Pleasants County Middle School in Belmont on Saturday April 2nd from 10am to around 4pm.  The money from the show goes to benefit the oldest school in the West Virginia.

They will have Trapper from Destination TV’s Mountain Monsters, Jeremy Ambler from the Walking Dead, local author Joseph Burdette, professional wrestler Chance Prophet, the Black Mountain Guard of Mandalorian Mercs, and musicians Harrah and Matthew Elder.

Vendors will have comics, toy, figures, Funkos, vintage football cards, Magic cards, anime, manga, games, Transformers, vintage video games and more.  As well as artists set up to sell and do commissions.

They will have face painting, caricatures, a costume contest at 1:15pm, pictures with Queen Elsa and Princess Anna from Frozen from 11am-1pm, music performances, starting at 2pm, and a raffle with many donated items with the drawing after 3pm.  Plus there will be two different Magic: The Gathering tournaments run by Arcane Games Store.

Again, another nice little convention to hang out and buy from, all for a good cause.
